The Map

7 days 7 nights, 112 km

A short but intense itinerary. An immersion in the French Alps to discover all it has to offer.

Day 1

Chamonix

After collecting the van, head off on your escape with the ascent of Aiguille du Midi. A trip with two stops: Plan de l’Aiguille at 2,354 m, ideal to start a hike or a paragliding flight, and cable car up to the peak of the Aiguille (3,842 m) with a flight over the glaciers and Europe’s highest peaks. Back down to earth, enjoy local specialities to celebrate your adventure.

Day 2

Bionnassay

Head towards the authentic hamlet of Bionnassay, at the foot of the homonymous glacier. From there, take one of the many hiking trails. Our favourite: Mount Vorassay with a walk between the chalets, ascent of a pass between earth and sky and leafy descent.

Day 3

les Contamines

Head to the foot of Mont Blanc in the village of Les Contamines, a resort laid out in several hamlets and dedicated to Alpine and Nordic skiing. Remarkable for its Baroque style, the chapel of Notre-Dame-de-la-gorge is the starting point of the adventure through trails and footpaths. Today’s recommendation: the Lacs Jovet.

Day 4

Passy

Meet at Passy, on the southern slope of the Chamonix Valley. Between the nature reserve’s protected pastures and rocks and renowned emerald green lake, the site offers exceptional hikes. A sure-fire winner: the Passy Plaine-Joux trail.

Day 5

Chamonix – Grands Montets

A legendary area, the Grands Montets offers the best playground for skiers and snowboarders in Chamonix. From the spring, a hike around the Argentière Glacier, between Aiguille Verte and Aiguille d’Argentière, offers the ultimate mountain experience.

Day 6

Vallorcine

For the second stop, destination Vallorcine around fifteen kilometres north-east of Chamonix. Hidden behind the Montets Pass, just at the foot of the Aiguilles Rouges, the site is a paradise for lovers of mountain biking, climbing, canyoning (in Barberine), fishing and hiking. The best routes are via the Tête de Balme and the Loriaz lodge.

Day 7

Chamonix

Back to square one. Last goodbye to the mountain and thanks to the van.
Paradise is awaiting you…

A trip with a view, starting from the peak of Aiguille du Midi, to continue around the Bionnassay glacier and its village of traditional chalets. In winter, the family resort of Les Contamines is the perfect stop for the skier and snowboarder alike, while in spring it’s a hiker’s paradise (don’t miss the Lacs Jovet trail). Last stop in Chamonix where the most amazing trails with spectacular views open up from the Montets pass to the Vallorcine trail.
