A 10-day route that starts on the shores of Lake Como. As you approach Merano, the peaks spring forth, rising suddenly after the carpet of mountain pastures and fir trees. In these mountains on a human scale rise the most vertical walls of the Alps. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a paradise for climbers and hikers, the Dolomites can also be discovered in winter by hiking or downhill skiing. Dolomite, the rock that gave the massif its name, comes from the depths of the sea and reminds us that this area was submerged millions of years ago. It is characterized by dominant silver, mother-of-pearl, purple and pale blue. And when the light appears, it reveals layers of pink, sepia, yellow, ocher.

The Map

10 days 10 nights, 1565 km

climbing, vertical walls, mountain pastures and villages, turquoise lakes, Italian gastronomy

Day 1

Lac de Come

From the shores of Lake Como to Bergamo, in South Tyrol in Italy, this road is made of contrasts between the light surfaces of bare rocks in shimmering colors and the forests and pastures.

Day 2

Merano

Merano is one of the most surprising cities in Italy, because it is actually more Austrian than Italian. Hikes along the waalweges: small canals that bring high-altitude water to various distribution points in the valley. Trails run along these canals and make excellent easy and cool hiking trails.

Day 3

Bolzano

Capital of the region, the city has only been Italian since the end of the First World War, which explains its strong Germanic character. Hike to Lake Carezza (Karersee). Nicknamed "Rainbow Lake". Located at 1,534 meters above sea level, it is in the heart of a forest of fir trees, whose silhouette is reflected in the crystal clear waters.

Day 4

Santa Maddalena di sopra

This charming village in the Dolomites is one of the main attractions to see in the Val di Funes. With the sharp mountain peaks of the Puez-Odle National Park towering over the landscape in the back. Visit the village of Santa Magdalena and the chapel of San Giovani di Ranui (or Chiesetta di San Giovanni).
When hiking, take the cable car that takes you to Alpe di Siusi. A loop takes you to the center of Aple di Siusi and brings you to Santa Cristina.

Day 5

Seceda (Ortisei)

Climbing Tofana di Roses. The via ferrata Lippella is a majestic route that contains all the desirable attractions: long tunnels, via ferratas of difficulty A/B/C, a few waterfalls, large snow fields and fantastic views. This route circles the entire mountain and reaches a staggering peak Tofana di Rozes (3225m).

Day 6

Lago di braie

This lake is gorgeous. Allow a good hour to go around it quietly (3.5 km walk), and it is also the starting point for many hikes in the surrounding mountains (Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park.) Visit the 5 torri, climb the 3 peaks and its highest point, the Cima Grande. The normal route is long, but the route is often quite obvious. Traditional equipment, with some peaks in the lengths. In hiking version, Hike from Tre Cime di Lavaredo to Belluno

Day 7

Cortina d’Ampezzo

Hike to the Lago di sorapis. It is one of the most beautiful hikes in the Dolomites, if not the most beautiful... The turquoise blue lake is absolutely beautiful. If you like mountain hiking, you will be overwhelmed by the beautiful landscapes that surround this famous lake.

Day 8

lac de garde

Lake Garda presents spectacular landscapes and memorable scenic routes. Swim at Pointe San Vigilio and Sirens Bay. Some villages to visit absolutely: Limone sul Garda, Torri del Benaco, Malcesine and Sirmione. Possible climbing small village of Arco, famous for its Rockmaster. There is a wall, and dozens of cliffs around it.

Day 9

Bergame

The city is full of wonders: its cathedral, the piazza vecchia, the Civica tower, experience the San Pellegrino thermal baths in Bergamo. It is a spa resort located in the city of Bergamo. Here, well-being rhymes with colonnades, early 20th century ceilings and period frescoes.

Day 10

Chamonix

Hike to do: from the Grand Balcon Nord, from the Plan de l'Aiguille to Montenvers. It's the perfect hike to do with the family because it takes a cable car and a cogwheel train, with a superb ride in between! The trail offers impressive panoramic views of the Aiguilles.
